BLAST Arts & Creativity
BLAST Arts Project – A Creative Collaboration
This year, our school was delighted to participate in the BLAST (Bringing Live Arts to Students and Teachers) initiative, funded by the Department of Education. BLAST gives schools the opportunity to work with professional artists and bring creativity into the classroom in exciting and meaningful ways.
Our 4th Class pupils had the wonderful experience of collaborating with artist Julie Forrester to design and create a vibrant mural for our school wall. This project was truly a team effort – from brainstorming ideas and sketching designs to painting the final piece, every child played an important role. Julie guided the students through the artistic process, encouraging them to express their ideas and work together to produce something unique and beautiful.
The finished mural is a celebration of creativity, community, and imagination. It reflects the children’s voices and their vision for a bright, welcoming school environment. We are so proud of their hard work and the collaborative spirit that made this project such a success.
A huge thank you to our paint sponsors , Julie Forrester and the BLAST programme for making this possible. This experience has shown our students the power of art to bring people together and transform spaces.
